Description
Strawberry Kush Feminized is 75% indica, 25% sativa. Its parent-plants are Strawberry Cough and OG Kush, one of the USA’s most popular strains. The plants mostly compact, though some phenotypes can grow taller. The scent and taste are distinctive; sweet strawberry with a hint of wood. Strawberry Kush Feminized has a high that’s unusually buzzy for an indica-dominant strain, and is also calming and somewhat arousing. The strain generates big yields, especially when cultivated indoors or in a warm, sunny climate.
Strawberry Kush Feminized is 75% indica, 25% sativa, and boasts an impressive genetic pool. Its parent plants are Strawberry Cough (created by former High Times editor Kyle Kushman) and OG Kush, one of California’s most famous strains.
Expect an unusually buzzy high for an indica-dominant plant, plus a welcome release from tension and stress. The yields can be big, and growers love the sweet strawberry aroma and taste. Plant height varies, depending on the phenotype.
Growing Strawberry Kush Feminized
Strawberry Kush Feminized cannabis seeds come from formidable stock, with Strawberry Cough and OG Kush as its parents. It’s 75% indica, 25% sativa, and is feminized, which ensures that male plants are kept at a minimum. This is useful for keeping fertilisation levels down, and for producing bumper harvests.
The relatively short flowering time is another bonus; and you can expect the process to take between 49 and 63 days.
Phenotype variation affects the height of the plants. Some are compact (especially indoors), while others develop a more stretched-out appearance. Structurally, the taller plants look a bit more like a typical sativa, with steep branches pressed close to the central stem. Lots of buds grow on these upper branches. The shorter phenotypes have a squatter appearance, with plenty of bushy branches.
With a little bit of love and care, Strawberry Kush Feminized produces seriously large yields. When cultivated inside, you can gather as much as 500g/m2, which will appeal to those who like their harvests to be super-sized.
The buds usually form in a similar manner, regardless of the phenotype. Expect the calyxes to coat the internodal gaps, with the buds growing mostly on the sturdy main stem. These buds are not only covered in sticky resin, but also large, dense and long. A real treat to look at! Some of the phenotypes even produce the much-coveted pink / red pistils, which matches the berry aroma to perfection.
Strawberry Kush Feminized does well in sunny, continental climates, or indoors. If you’re into training techniques, then have a go with SCROG (Screen of Green), SOG (Sea of Green) or super-cropping, as these will boost your yields. The taller phenotypes also respond well to lollipopping.
Effect, taste, and smell of Strawberry Kush Feminized
Strawberry Kush Feminized is mostly indica, with just 25% of sativa in its genetic pool. However, it has a surprisingly buzzy high that’s more typical of a sativa-dominant strain. You’ll notice the immediate uplift, with a pleasantly relaxing chill, both for the body and mind. Make no mistake though, you won’t be comatose on the sofa. The high is alert throughout, and as a result, it’s ideal for relieving the stress of a hard day at work.
Strawberry Kush’s aroma is the stuff of legend. As the name suggests, it’s got a real hit of berry, which seriously intensifies as the buds ripen. Keep that in mind if you’re planning to grow the plants discreetly! There are also notes of wood and spicy sweetness, making this one of the most fragrant-smelling strains on the market.
The taste is also a pure burst of strawberry, with that same delicious sweetness. You’ll also pick up on a rich oaky flavour, which adds major depth. As for the intensity? THC levels are usually around 18%, though some pro-growers have reportedly got it as high as 23%. As such, it’s relatively powerful, and new smokers should be aware of this. The CBD levels are less than 1%.
