Description
Critical Skunk Feminized is an indica-dominant plant. Short in height, it is adorned by numerous lateral branches. Each apical tip swells with colourful flowers during the fast-flowering duration. Dense buds are layered with trichomes and orange stigmas. The flavour profile balances the hybrid genetics, but the terpene profile exudes indica influence. Effects are subtle and long lasting.
About Critical Skunk Feminized
Critical Skunk Feminized seeds come from two of the most respected building blocks of modern cannabis genetics. Critical Skunk Feminized is a cross of Skunk #1 and our Afghani #1. With their genetic contributions to the flavour and terpene profiles, something wonderful was created. This is a low maintenance plant. It’s a great selection for new growers, given the easy to grow nature.
The sativa influence from the Skunk #1 is primarily expressed by Critical Skunk Feminized in the flavour profile. Connoisseurs will also detect the Skunk #1 influence by the immediate, euphoric effects of this strain.
Afghani #1 is responsible for the indica-dominant traits. Quick flowering times, dense buds, and the ability to handle cooler outdoor climates are a few of the indica traits that reliably show in our Critical Skunk Feminized.
Growing Critical Skunk Feminized
Critical Skunk Feminized seeds express their indica-dominant genes in the overall plant morphology. This plant remains short, which is a benefit to indoor growers with low ceilings. This trait allows growers to maintain more distance between the canopy and HID lighting.
Critical Skunk Feminized has compact branch spacing. The indica inheritance is also represented by the large fingered, deep green leaves. Foliage from the many branches create a dense canopy, which will benefit from defoliation before starting the flowering stage. As this is a feminized strain, only female plants will result.
The flowering time of Critical Skunk Feminized is uniquely quick. 45-50 days after the flowering cycle is initiated, growers are able to harvest the ripe and swollen buds. During the average lifecycle of this strain, indoor gardens with controlled environments can produce plants in the 40-80 cm height range. Outdoor growers will see an increase from the natural sun, often finishing in the range of 80-120 cm tall.
Flowers of Critical Skunk Feminized are a beautiful sight. A stunning layer of deep orange stigmas are highlighted by a crystal-like crust of cannabinoid rich trichomes below. Beneath that, shades of green and purple hues swirl and accentuate the plant material of the swollen bracts. The chunky and dense buds cluster along each of the many lateral branches.
With the right environment, indoor growers are able to achieve yields of 250-300 grams per m². Outdoor growers are able to improve on that number, which can be in the range of 160-200 grams per plant.
Critical Skunk Feminized is a hardy plant. The Afghani #1 influence gives this plant the ability to withstand colder than normal temperatures outdoors. Growers in a temperate / continental climate can achieve great results growing this strain.
Critical Skunk Feminized is a compact and fast finishing plant. Common cannabis training techniques like SCROG, Supercropping, and Lollipopping aren’t very needed, but can be used if desired. This strain is suitable for SOG, which can maximise the square footage of the grow area and take advantage of the quick flowering time.
Effects, taste and smell of Critical Skunk Feminized
It isn’t often that the sativa lineage makes itself known in this strain, but the onset of effects of Critical Skunk Feminized are distinctly sativa. An uplifting, cerebral high greets people with open arms and a smile. The warm, euphoric embrace dissipates into the traditionally indica side of the effects. As the mental stimulation recedes, a deep relaxation consumes tired muscles and puts the body at ease.
Coincidentally, the flavour profile is the other area of Critical Skunk Feminized where the sativa heritage breaks through the indica dominance. The primary flavour of the flower is similar to the zesty nature of a freshly peeled lemon. Although the lemon zest essence takes the main stage, it is not a solitary flavour, joining it is a touch of exotic sandalwood. Indica based undertones of pungent skunk and fresh earth balance and complete the profile.
Critical Skunk Feminized features a terpene profile that indulges the indica lovers desire for dankness. While flowering, this plant will emit pungent skunky notes. As it is dried and cured, those notes turn into a subtle sweetness that equally couples with earthy scents to create a unique nose.
A classic trait of Afghani #1 is the spicy hashish terpenes, which the Critical Skunk Feminized certainly has too. The addition of hashish aromas fills the background, completing the simple, but inviting terpene profile.
